Myco DIY: Sustainable Mycelium Grow Kit | Craft Biodegradable Wonders
Tired of waiting weeks for mycelium colonization?
What if you could skip sterilization, ditch lab equipment, and craft professional-grade biomaterials in just 72 hours? Our pre-colonized mycelium blocks are revolutionizing DIY biofabrication – 87% faster growth than traditional methods, with contamination rates slashed to 0.3% through medical-grade sterilization protocols. Whether you’re creating eco-packaging prototypes, bioart installations, or simply exploring circular design, this guide unveils the hack every mycophile wishes they knew sooner. Grab your alcohol wipes (we’ve included pro-grade ones!), and let’s turn your kitchen counter into a cutting-edge bio-lab.”
For mycelium stored below -5°C, activate by acclimating at room temperature (18-25°C) for 24 hours before use.
Supplies Needed: Alcohol (75%), DIY mold Disinfection, Clean workspace, gloves, mold, and outer aluminum bag with alcohol.
Unpack: Open aluminum bag and remove pre-mixed mycelium material.
Fill Mold: Break material into pieces, press evenly into mold.
Seal & Vent: Cover with cling film, poke 4-5 holes using toothpick. Store in dark area (24-28°C) for 72hrs.
Days 1-3 (Colonization):
White fuzzy mycelium appears. Ventilate wrap daily (30 sec).
Demolding (Day 4):
Remove block from mold. Rewrap with cling film (add 4-5 holes). Return to dark area (24-28°C) for 48-72hrs.
Days 5-6 (Maturation):
Dense mycelium network forms. Ready for baking.
Temperature: 70°C Duration: 4-5 hours
Steps:
(1)Place block on baking tray.
(2)Bake in preheated oven.
(3)Cool completely to harden (use for decor/crafts).
